Lets consider the two opposing parties Republican and Democrat. Conservative and liberal. And which planet you live on. Let us say The Republican is Earth like . Life and intelligent life on its surface. Where most Ideas came from. kind of puny size wise. 

then some fella says , "I have a planet for you . It is theoretically  the same distance from your Sun . It is called Jupiter man is it big and colorful as all get out. So you fly out to look. Wow!?  the place is big . But where do we build . The place is all gas and hot air . there is no firm surface.   Maybe I will pass . Until a real choice in planets comes along . So brothers when some fella asks you.  what planet are you from . Mr old fuddy duddy . What will you say? How about Earth and Dang proud of it.
